summer adventure #4: Bear Lake

Okay, so I went on this trip a little over a month ago.... but it's better late than never, right? Right. I actually started this blog just a couple days after we got back but never finished it. So here it is, the final finished product.
So, as the title states, trip #4 was to bear lake with my family. My entire immediate family. I don't even remember the last time my whole family was together for a vacation, it's been sooooo long. So it was pretty much awesome that we were all able to be there. There were 13 of us that went and we had 2 trailers, 2 tents, and 2 waverunners. It was a blast. We stayed at the KOA there at Bear Lake, and we got to go to the lake almost every day. We took the wave runners and alot of chairs and lunches and chilled there at the lake. We also played horseshoes at the campground a few times, and we went on a ride in some sweet multi-pedaler cart/wagon/train deals. It was a blast! It was a fun trip with the whole family, hopefully the first of many to come! Here are a couple pictures. Oh, and I don't know how to make it so when you click on the picture it enlarges it.... anyone know how I do that? Chels? Em? Anyone? Help?

summer adventure #3: Arizona

On to the next trip. This time I went with Quinn, his brother, and his sister-in-law again. Quinn's sister-in-law's dad (she's got all the hookups) has a way nice house outside of Scottsdale, AZ, so we got to go and stay there for a few days. It's a way pretty house in a community with a pool and like 6 golf courses and what not. So we chilled at the pool for a couple days and went to the driving range and had good food and went to the Diamondbacks vs. Angels game. It was great, and there were even fireworks after! Then we drove to the trail head of Havasupai and slept in the parking lot. We got there at about 2am and had to get up at 4am, so we didn't get much sleep to say the least. And here is where the real journey begins. There were 8 of us that went. So we all got together and got our packs and all our gear and headed down the trail. It's an 8 mile hike to Supai village and another 2 miles to the campground. So we finally made it to the campground (though I was ready to be done when we got to the village) and set up camp. Then it was straight to the falls!! Havasu Falls are so so pretty, and the pool at the bottom is just like a swimming pool. The water is AMAZING and a blue-ish green color because of all the lime in it. So we pretty much just chilled by the falls and took a long nap the first day we got there. The next day we hiked to Moonie Falls. It was way sweet hiking down to them, because you have to hike through the rocks and descend with ropes and chains because it's really steep. Then it was back to Havasu Falls for more swimming and naps. Later that night me and Quinn hiked over to Rock Falls. These falls are new because there was a huge flash flood last year that wiped out the old falls (Navajo), and they have been replaced with these. There was a place where you could climb behind the waterfall and jump through it into the river. It was way fun and the perfect temperature at dusk. Then the next day we had to wake up at 3:30am and start hiking out so we could beat the heat. The hike out was nice because we put our big packs on a mule and had the mule hike it out, so all we had was our camelbaks. It wasn't too bad.... except for the wretched switchbacks at the very end. I thought I was going to have a stroke haha. They were horrible!! But I finally made it to the top. We made it to the top at 9am, so it took us about 4-4.5 hours to get out. Then we had to wait for the mule to come with our packs, and then the long 8 (9?) hour drive home. We were exhausted when we finally made it home, but we made it!! And we had a blast!!

Coming soon: summer trip #4: Bear Lake!!!

summer adventure #2: San Felipe, BC, Mexico

It's that time of year again!! The time where you get to forget all your problems and drive 14 long hours and stay in a house in St. George and then get to the beautiful house in Mexico and lay on the beach and go swimming and ride the 4-wheelers and get sunburned and see dozens of dolphins and ride the waverunners and go fishing and eat great food and have the missionaries over for dinner and do service for the members and shop and have a great time for a week.
Yeah, I like this time of year.

summer adventure #1: the subway

So.... i know it's been forever since i blogged last. But oh well, i'm over it. So here's what i've been up to lately. At the end of May I went down to Saint George with Quinn and his brother and sister-in-law and about 7 other people. We stayed in Quinn's sister-in-law's grandparent's house down there (that made sense, i promise). The first day we went to Crawdad Canyon and did some climbing, which was way fun. Then that night we went into Vegas for a few hours. My friend put $2 in a machine and ended up winning like $75, lucky duck. We didn't get home from Vegas till about 3am, so the next day we just slept in and chilled at the house. Then the next day we got up and drove to Zion National Park to hike the subway. It was awesome. We had to swim through the frigid river that ran through the bottom of the canyon. And I mean we had to SWIM through it. Not just wade. And it was bloody cold. We also had to rappel down a few places. It was awesome. All except for the switchbacks at the end. Those were simply horrible. They were straight up! But all in all it was a splendid little adventure. Here are some pics:

What's the point...

So I think part of the reason why I don't post as often as I should is because I have no motivation. If I felt that people read my blog and it was actually worth the time it takes to post stuff then I think I would more often. But you see I never get any comments or anything so I figure that people don't read it anyway, so why post?? So if what I think is true, then no one will read this and I shall know the answer. If this for some reason happens to be false, then I think that y'all should COMMENT ON MY BLOG so that I feel I have a reason to do it!! Okay that is all sanks peace out

Good Times

Look look!! A new blog post!! I know i know, you are all stoked. So.... I guess it's update time. Let's see.... hmmm...... uh..... okay it looks like this is gonna be a little harder than I originally thought. Well... it's the end of the semester.... always stressful, but I don't really want to talk about school. It's monotonous and unexciting. So I shall fill you in on the rest of my life. Which I can't say will be much more exciting than hearing about school. Oh wait I have a good story!! Okay so this year I didn't do much for spring break, because my friends either had work or they had a different spring break than me. But we did get a group together to go out to the west desert to have a bonfire and camp out for a night. So we got everyone together and loaded up with the gear and the overnight supplies and some looted pallets for the fire, and headed out into the sunset. There were about 8 of us that went. We loaded some of my friend's toys, like the pit bike and the four-wheeler and a dirt bike to take with us. So we got up there and unloaded the equipment and started playing around on the stuff and playing catch and stuff, but it was so so windy so we moved to where we had more cover. We had some saw horses that we brought to burn so we set them out and stacked a TON of scrap wood and pallets and what not on them and tried to start it on fire. It took a while for us to finally get it going, and when it got going it was BIG. Like seriously huge. And the wind was still crazy so we had to keep our eyes peeled to make sure nothing caught on fire (though there wasn't much to worry about catching on fire). We separated a couple pieces of wood out so that we could roast our hot dogs. Then, as the fire was starting to burn down, we saw a police car with its lights on coming towards us. Great. This can't be good. We figured they were coming to tell us to put out the fire, so we all said "Quick!! Hurry and roast the hot dogs before we have to put out the fire!!" So we shoved 4 hot dogs on each stick and stuck them in the fire, and the boys went to talk to the Sheriff. When they came back they told us that the Sheriff had said that there were 4 fire trucks on the way to put out the fire, but they had 3 of them turn around. So a couple minutes later the fire truck shows up and starts hosing down our fire, while we are huddled around the little fire trying to finish roasting our hot dogs (they were gonna put out the small one too). So we finished our hot dogs and they put out the little fire, and then it was over. But before they left I asked to get some pictures with the firemen. So here they are:

Yeah so it was pretty much fun. So after that we decided to not stay the night, after all. But even though we didn't get to camp out and it was super windy and the firemen extinguished our fire, it was still really fun. The end.

Happy Now??

So i've been getting alot of crap from people about me not posting on my blog. Don't you people realize that some of us just simply aren't that interesting and therefore try to spare the general population from hearing about our lame and monotonous lives?? Geez. I was just trying to do y'all a favor.
But since most of you i'm sure have marked me as "presumed dead", i've decided to prove that i am indeed alive and kicking. Somewhat. I have had the flu the past week (ish), and it has sucked. Being sick is no bueno. But i am feeling a bit better and am hoping that means I am on the road to recovery. So that's kinda all that's been going on. I am on this fruit kick for some reason. Yesterday I bought a gallon of orange juice and a skillion green grapes and some fruit bars. Mmmmm. I originally went to the store with the intention of buying chocolate ice cream and cookies and ended up getting healthy stuff. What the crap. It was pretty funny I got the fruit bars instead of the super fudge brownie chocolate ice cream, and I said to Quinn "I don't need chocolate." He gave me a weird look and whipped out his phone and pushed record and said "could you please say that again" so i did and then he added "today is March 5th, 2009, 10:15 pm, and that was Aubrey Frandsen." It was pretty funny, because that seriously never happens. I guess it was the fact that i'm sick and my body is all messed up. Made me loopy.
Hmmmm..... what else has happened... not alot. I know I say this pretty much every time I post, but I am going to try and do better at posting things. The end.

Oh wait, I wanted to add these pictures from engrishfunny.com. These made me laugh so freaking hard so hopefully you will enjoy them too. Peace.

Suck Fest.

So today sucked. Hard core. I already posted a blog today, but that was before the crap hit the fan. Let me fill you in on what happened. So today started out kinda sucky because I woke up late and slept through a couple of my classes. But that's not a huge deal. So I just chilled and did some reading and showered and what not. Then it was time to go to the school to watch a movie for my film class, so I went out to the parking lot. I was walking toward my truck, then I realized that my truck wasn't there. I stopped in my tracks and thought, what the freaking crap. Where the bloody fetch is my truck. So i'm thinking either it was towed or it's been stolen. Either way, i'm screwed. So I went back to my apartment to try and find a number for the towing place so I could call and find out if it's been towed. But why would have it been towed? I parked in a parking spot... I think... bah. I don't remember. It had to have been a spot, there was another car just right across from me. Whatever, I just need to find my truck. So I call a few numbers and finally find the right one. Yes, they have my truck at the towing yard and it'll cost me $120 to get it back. Peachy. I'll just teleport over there and hand over a billion dollars. Well i'm in no rush at this point, there's no way i'll make it to the movie now. So I decide to wait a bit until I figure out how i'm gonna get there. I know, I thought, i'll print off my new and improved school schedule for this semester, now that i've finally got all my classes figured out. So I go to print it off, and guess what I find on my printer, hiding under a shirt. My debit card. My debit card that I lost last Saturday. Sweet! I should be happy, right? Wrong. Problem is, I called the credit card company and had them block the card and went to the bank and ordered a new one. I did this just yesterday. So now I have a useless debit card. Luckily when I went to the bank I got a couple hundred dollars worth of cash to pay for stuff while my new card was being shipped. So now I can at least pay the dirtbags that towed my truck. So my truck is towed, I found my newly cancelled debit card, I missed the movie for my class, and on top of that I have a headache and a toothache. I think the headache might be caused from the toothache. Plus, I don't get to see Quinn today because he is staying the night in Salt Lake because he has a late class tonight. And my backpack is in my truck, so I can't do any of my homework. And I don't have a ride to go get my truck. Boo. So that was my day. I hope all y'all's was better than mine. Peace out and wish me luck!

THE QUINN!!! and stuff.

Okay so... I suck at blogging. I always forget about it... and then when I remember that I have a blog and should probably update it, I can never think of anything to say. So my siser suggested that I talk about my boyfriend, and when anyone asks about him I can say "go read my blog." So here goes. His name is Quinn Shelton. He's 22 and lives in American Fork. He returned in August from serving a mission in McAllen, Texas (Spanish and English speaking). He goes to the U of U, he hasn't declared a major but is leaning towards something in the medical field. He is exactly 2 years and one day older than me. We went to the same high school and had some mutual friends, and we had hung out a couple times a few years ago, but that's it. Then one day in October I went to an Institute dance with some friends and we saw him and his friends (who were my friends as well) and we went to Denny's with them. So Quinn and I started talking and I realized that his brother is Judd, who used to date my sister. Kinda. So we kept talking and I got HIS number (I did all the work in this relationship). So after that we kept talking and hanging out and what not, and the rest is history. We've now been dating for 3 months. Here are a couple random pictures:

Ho Ho Ho and.... stuff.

So I know I haven't posted in quite a while.... I simply never have anything interesting to say. But I decided as part of my new year's resolutions I would try and post more. Well to start out I would just like to say that I had a fabulous Christmas and new years. I absolutely loved being with my family and loved ones. I had a blast. and my cousin Mckay came home a couple days before Christmas so I got to see him on Christmas. He is the same age as me, and he and some other people from my grade are all home from their missions.... It makes me feel so old. But oh well, life moves on and people grow up. and i'm happy, so that's all that matters! Well anyway, I thought for my sake I would do a little "year in review" of major things that have happened in my life this year.

1. moved from Salt Lake to American Fork and then to Orem, where I currently reside
2. picked a major (deaf studies)
3. made lots of new friendships
4. went to Mexico a couple times
5. saw many friends get married and/or have babies
6. became an aunt/second cousin/godmother :)
7. had a couple crappy yet educational relationships and one amazing one (so far... ha)
8. had many friends and relatives leave for or come home from missions
9. learned a great many things about myself
10. hmm.... not sure. I know there are some more major things... but I simply can't think of them.

So 2008 was a pretty good year, but I think 2009 will be even better. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for me!!! I hope you all had a great 2008 as well! I love you all!!
